Background
Juan Carlos (JC) is the Founder and Managing Partner of Shanghai High-Tech Business Consulting Co., Ltd., a consulting company helping overseas clients source Chinese high-tech equipment, machinery, and solutions as well as offering complementing consulting services in engineering and R&D activities necessary for custom solutions. JC also offers Agile (Scrum) training and coaching services. JC has a very strong technical background, he holds a BSc degree in Electronic Engineering, MSc in Computer Science, and other certifications as PMP and CSM (Certified Scrum Master). JC also holds an MBA degree from CEIBS. For most of his professional career, JC worked in R&D developing industrial mechatronic products for European MNCs in various roles from hardware developer, software developer, and architect, team leader, project manager, and R&D Manager. JC has extensive global and inter-cultural experience having lived and worked in multiple countries around the world.
Teaching Experience
JC has five years of experience lecturing Electronic and Control System Engineering and Managerial subjects like Industrial and Project Management where he also taught the foundations of classical as well as of agile project management. Previously he pioneered the introduction of Scrum as a project management methodology in two MNCs where he used to work (also as Scrum Master) and therefore he carried out Scrum training sessions with multi-disciplinary mechatronic development teams.
Languages:
JC teaches in English and Spanish. He is also fluent in German, Italian and Portuguese. He has lower-advanced Chinese Mandarin skills (HSK5 & BCT-B).
