Javier Cunat

Management Consultant & Entrepreneur

Background

Javier is an experienced management consultant and business executive with +12 years of China/Asia experience delivering strategy consulting & outsourcing solutions. He specializes in Finance and Procurement transformation projects for both MNCs as well as tech businesses and startups in the China-Mexico space. He has co-authored two books in the fields of entrepreneurship and strategy (‘Latin America in China’ - LID Editorial, and ‘Incorporating China into the Global Mining Supply Chain’ - LAP Publishing) and has been awarded the ‘Outstanding Thesis Award 2014’ (Tsinghua-INSEAD EMBA) as well as the 2011 ‘Emerald/CLADEA Latin American Management Research Fund Award’. Javier has worked and studied in Spain, Belgium (K.U. Leuven), France, China, and Mexico. He holds a BA degree in Administration and Business Management as well as a BA degree in Economics from the University of Valencia. He is also EMBA from Tsinghua-INSEAD.

Teaching Experience

Javier is Visiting Lecturer of Procurement and Supply Chain at ESEUNE Business School (ESEUNE) in its Tianjin (China) campus. He lectures on Global Sourcing, the case for Best Value Country sourcing, and China procurement. He has also lectured at the Women Entrepreneurship & Leadership for Africa Programme (WELA) program of China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) on strategy and entrepreneurship. He is an experienced and much sought-after speaker in procurement and supply chain-related forums such as Procurement Success Summit, SourcingShift Conference, or CHaINA Live among others.

Javier is fluent in English, French and Spanish. He also speaks Mandarin.
